Campbell Children: Letters to Santa

Posted on September 22nd, 2015 by DCBA

Did you know that Santa has a local P.O. box that he checks regularly? Santa is lucky enough to be able to use the this address to receive letters from Campbell boys and girls who want to send Santa their holiday wish list. If you know a child who would love to write to Santa and receive a letter back, then please have him or her write a letter and send it to: PO Box 1, Campbell, CA 95008. Be sure to include a return address. Santa will check his mail between October 15 and December 15, 2015.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Campbell Historical Museum and Ainsley House.

Throughout the month of September, when you shop at The Olive Bar, 10% of your gross sales amount will be donated toward Ovarian Cancer awareness and education efforts through the Teals Real foundation. Put your teal on in support and do your shopping on Tuesdays at a business participating in the Teals Real fundraiser drive. Also participating are Frost Cupcake Factory and Campbell Brewing Company.

Well, we're finally getting around to that. Here they are a few weeks late.

How many of you out there remember Shebele Eithiopean Cuisine?

ZURB: Designers Gone Wired

Posted on August 26th, 2015 by sheldon

We'd like to make a shout out to our friends down the street at an excellent Product Design company in Campbell by the name of ZURB. They're getting ready to take on a 24-hour design sprint for charity. It's a challenge they started ten years ago called Wired.

Each year, ZURB chooses a charity that they'd like to help out by donating marketing and design help. The effort is kicked off in a 24-hour coffee driven all-hands-on-deck sprint where together with members of the charity's team, they come up with a complete makeover of the company's marketing approach. At the end of the sprint, the lucky charity will have a shiny new website, marketing materials, and an action plan on how they can best utilize their professional looking new tools to get the word out about their mission.

The beneficiary of Wired this year is the Downtown Streets Team, a non-profit dedicated to helping the homeless by helping them find housing, develop skills, and find employment.

They've requested that we help boost morale by sending messages of support to their soon to be exhausted team. You can do that over the social media of choice by hash tagging your message with #ZURBwired. They start at 8am on Thursday morning, and it's a direct non-stop flight from there so keep those messages of support coming, especially in the later hours.

You can also follow their progress during Wired here:

We'd like to heartily thank the City of Campbell and particularly the Parks and Rec department for organizing another amazing season of summer concerts in Downtown Campbell. This is their show. We're just happy to be the neighborhood in which it's hosted. All credit goes to the city for this wonderful summer tradition.

As a last word about the 2015 concerts, we'd like to share with you this video of someone having waaay too much fun at the final concert with the Sage Band. Having waaay too much fun is encouraged, BTW.

Teeth Dancing to Sage at the Campbell Summer Concert Series

Ok, I just posted a photo of this, but the video is even better. Here's a video of the "teeth on a stick" dancers at the Sage concert tonight in Downtown Campbell.
