The Mercury News published a nice introduction into what the owners of the soon to be opening 7 Stars Bar and Grill are trying to do with their new location in Downtown Campbell. Their location in Downtown Campbell is expected to be a continuation of their previous location in San Jose that closed in 2021.

The bar and grill will be sci-fi themed with a heavy Star Wars influence, but they're planning for an all-inclusive environment in more ways than one.

"They have declared 7 Stars as a safe zone for all people, regardless of color, race, religion, gender expression/identity or who you love."

From the sounds of it, anyone who was a fan of their old location should instantly feel at home in their new place once it opens. They were known for all kinds of serious nerd-out trivia nights that were so popular that people had to be turned away and they're going to be bringing those back.

Read more about what Lisa Thorn of the Mercury News had to say about Paul and Marya and their 7 Stars Bar and Grill (gift link).

Our 2024 car show is barely in the books and we're already getting asked when the 2025 show is going to be. We don't have a date yet and probably won't have a date until early next year, but expect it to be around the same late June timeframe.

Car Show Entry Notifications

If you want to be on our email notification list once we have something to announce, please send an email to [email protected] and just mention that you want to be notified about upcoming Historic Downtown Campbell Car Show news.

2025 Sponsor Notifications

If you're interested in being a sponsor for our 2025 show, send us an email to [email protected] and mention that you're interested in sponsorship opportunities for the show.

Volunteering for the 2025 Show

We also need volunteers galore to help us on the day of the show. It's never too early to begin asking for helpers. If you'd like us to contact you to be on our team in 2025, please fill out our Volunteer Registration Form. If you have any special skills you'd be interested in contributing, make sure you mention them. Volunteers are awesome. Skilled volunteers are even better.

Make sure you choose the Car Show as one of your areas of interest, but we would welcome your help with any other events as well!

The 2024 Historic Downtown Campbell Car Show is in the books! We hope you enjoyed attending it as much as we did hosting it. We've got awards from the show for you and other things to announce. There were seven prize categories with a custom trophy awarded to the best car in each group as selected by our panel of judges.

  • Best Truck - Rick Heinrich - 1951 Ford 3100
  • Best Muscle Car - David Fernandez - 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle
  • Best Street Machine - Gary Schuitemaker - 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
  • Best Hot Rod - Ben Seward - 1956 Chevy Nomad
  • Best Import - Art Gabriel - 1973 BMW 2002
  • Staff Pick Award - Jaime Huerta - 1971 Buick Riviera
  • Best in Show - Speedtech Motorsports, Kevin Moore - 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe

Scroll down to view photos of the winners.

Thank you to all of you who entered your car into our second juried car show. After a very well received, but more modestly sized first event in 2023, we came back in our second year with a larger event that added over 100 cars to the 160 that were entered the previous year. We also added two new award categories this year for Best Street Machine and a Staff's Pick Award.

Our second show was by all measures everything we had hoped for with one exception. If you were there and you thought the show ended earlier than it was supposed to, you're right. A couple of of the car show entrants broke some car show rules and caused the Campbell Police Department to call off the show 45 minutes early for safety reasons. We'll have more car shows. Those two will never again be a part of them.

Regardless, even with an awkward ending, it was a great show and you can flip through our official event photos if you missed it. It was no easy effort. A small army of volunteers were needed with many showing up as early as 6am to help prepare for the day. Thank you massively to all of our dedicated helpers who helped us pull this off. We couldn't have done it without you.

While we're thanking our volunteer teams, please remember that this car show and most of the events that happen in Downtown Campbell are entirely run by volunteers who contribute countless hours of their time to make things happen. Some of them put in hundreds of hours a year.

In no particular order, some of the tireless people who made this show happen this year were:

Even if your car is not in the show, we would of course love to see you at the show and better yet, you can volunteer to help make the show a success. We still need volunteers to help us out at the show. To learn more about volunteering opportunities please go to:

There's going to be a new hangout in Downtown Campbell soon! Later this year, 7 Stars Bar and Grill, previously located on Bascom Ave. in San Jose is moving in to the space that used to be Lvl Up. 7 Stars closed in 2021 and they're bringing it back in Downtown Campbell.

Meet the owners, Paul and Mayra! Apparently they're huge Star Wars and sci-fi nerds so you know this is going to be interesting!

The expected opening of 7 Stars is sometime in the summer in the July-August time frame.

Unfortunately, they won't be able to carry forward the barcade part of Lvl Up. It's going to be a fun and offbeat bar and grill. They said in a video they would have loved to keep the old concept going, but they're working with what they know and do best.

You can always head upstairs to the Retro Fix if you want to nerd out over some retrogaming.

UPDATE: Entries for the 2024 Car Show have been closed.

The Historic Downtown Campbell Car Show is coming on June 29th! Many of our favorites from last year are returning along with a whole fleet of stunning newcomers of all kinds and vintages that we can't wait to show you.

If you want to enter the show, we're still taking entries, but don't wait too long. We're going to run low on space soon.

We also have a few sponsorship slots left for local businesses and organizations.

See our official car show event page for more information.

A couple of months ago we announced that the RetroFix in Downtown Campbell was intending to go out with a bang on April 14th.

There was a loud bang alright, but it wasn't the sound of RetroFix leaving. It was the sound of racous cheering when the shop's owner, Rudy, announced with his entire team and community standing there with him announced that at the last minute he was able to work something out with the building owner to continue building the community hangout and business that he'd been dreaming of building his entire life.

On their "last day" the RetroFix held what was to be their final swap meet and mini-con. Normally their mini-cons have a single theme. It's retro games, Anime, or collectible toys. As a farewell, they blended their two biggest communities for the last hurrah. The Anime people and the retro games people were all there together for a sendoff.

At the end of the event, Rudy gave a straight from the heart talk from memory where he thanked everyone who had sacrificed for him and with him to make the place even possible. Instead of saying goodbye, he teased that with this new lease on life, they have plans, but couldn't talk about them yet.

The Downtown Campbell Car Show is a great opportunity for your business or organization to be seen. Because our car show is about doing fun things to create community and supporting small locally owned businesses, we've kept the sponsorship rates affordable to allow more businesses and organizations that love Campbell to participate.

We're keeping this simple. It's just one rate. $350 gets you on the back of this year's t-shirt plus you get on our sponsor grid on the official Historic Downtown Campbell Car Show Page.

If you'd like to join in and support our car show with a sponsorship, please email [email protected] for details. Space is limited to 24 sponsors.

Hello owners of exquisite, exotic, and interesting cars, the 2024 Historic Downtown Campbell Car Show is calling you! Our second annual show will be held on June 29th, 2024 in Campbell, CA.

🚗 Car Show Registration Site

Awards and Judging

It will be an all-day show from 9am to 3pm with closed streets. This is a juried show with professional judges that also judge at the Good Guys shows. Custom fabricated one-of-a-kind trophies will be awarded for:

  • Best in Show
  • Best Muscle Car
  • Best Truck
  • Best Import
  • Best Hot Rod
  • Best Street Machine
  • Staff Pick

Types of Cars

We're looking for cars of all types. Our goal is for this show to have a little bit of everything. Please see our photos from the 2023 car show for examples of the kind of mix we're aiming for.

We're not doing motorcycles at this show. Cars and trucks only please.

Entering Your Car

Space is limited for our car show and all entries will be screened by our review panel. If you are accepted, the entry fee is $45 per vehicle and includes a t-shirt. There is no charge for submitting an entry.

You may enter more than one car, but in order to give more people a chance to be in the show, we may ask you to cut back to one car if we run low on space.

By entering, you are committing to exhibiting your car for the entire duration of the show (8:00am-4pm). Once you're placed, you will not be able to leave until the police department re-opens the street at 4pm.

To enter, please go to carshow.downtowncampbell.com.

More Info

Thank you all for your patience while we worked on getting our 2024 Historic Downtown Campbell Car Show Registration site online. We're now taking entries for our upcoming car show to take place in Downtown Campbell on Saturday, June 29th.

To enter your car, please visit: carshow.downtowncampbell.com.

All entries will be screened by our panel of professional judges. Once your entry has been approved to enter the show, we'll email you to collect your entry fee and complete your entry into the show.

We're going to be swamped with entries in the first two weeks so please allow us a little extra time to get through the flood of initial entries.

Last year we ran in an issue with the number of cars we were allowed to have in the show and we had to ask some people to volunteer to withdraw cars that we had already accepted into the show. If you were one of these people, please mention it in your submission to receive priority for entry.

Hopefully we won't need to repeat that painful exercise again this year. After a good showing in our first year, our police department is allowing us to have more cars in the show this year. We still won't have unlimited space, but we'll be able to accept a lot more cars than we did last year.
