Like Watermelon, but Mo' Funner

Posted on September 10th, 2016 by Frost Cupcake Factory

Here's your next party trick. Pick up a slice of one of these "watermelons" from Frost Cupcake Factory and eat it whole, rind and all, to the amazement of everyone else. Then resist the urge to spit out the "seeds". These watermelon Rice Krispie treats look so real, you'll need to hide the salt shaker from the habitual "salt my fruit" fanatic.

Did you know Frost does all sorts of fun custom catering treats in addition to their namesake cupcakes? If you have a special event that you need catered, wow your guests with something fun, something creative, and something daring.

Downtown Campbell would like to wish good luck, good hygiene, and good coffee to the creatives at ZURB as they embark on their annual Wired project. ZURB is a design company in Campbell located just a couple of blocks outside of Downtown Campbell. They help businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, and individuals design better products and websites and each year, they use their powers to give back to the community in a 24 hour all-hands-on-deck sprint of design, marketing, and creativity in a project they call Wired.

Wired 2016 will benefit Life Services Alternatives, an organization that provides housing for developmentally disabled adults and helps them learn life skills to lead normal lives with as much independence as possible. LSA operates assisted cohabitation homes for people with development disabilities and the good souls at ZURB will go sleepless in Campbell starting at 8 AM on Thursday, August 25 to make sure that LSA will have everything they need to help them raise the funds and awareness that they need to continue their mission.

The entire 24 hour sprint is live blogged and captured on Twitter and Facebook to let you follow along in their progress and cheer them on. It really is fascinating to see to see so much design, marketing, and communication unfold in such a short adrenaline assisted time. They've asked their friends and followers to participate by posting words of encouragement using the hashtag #ZURBWired (especially during those hours when the neurotransmitters in your brain are telling you to get some Z's instead of getting a complete branding and marketing overhaul done before the sun comes up).

You can follow their progress starting at 8am on Thursday:

Campbell Con

Posted on July 26th, 2016 by Campbell Community Center

The bite sized, very accessible, and inexpensive comic convention returns for a return engagement to Campbell! It's ideal for families, people who just want to get a taste of the "comic con" scene, or hard core fans looking for a change of pace with a more intimate affair. Look in our albums for some photos from last year's Campbell Con if you want to see what it was like. Tickets are only $10! Compare that to the $55 cost for an adult for a day at the big shows before you throw in parking and hotel into the mix. It really is the neighborhood pop culture convention that it's billed as.
