Have you noticed the (not so) new Strike Brewing Company Taproom just outside of Downtown Campbell? They arrived in late 2019 and barely managed to celebrate its grand opening before 2020 happened so we're finally getting around to giving them the welcome they deserve.

Strike Brewing Co is a local brewery that produces delicious classic and modern American beer styles and is distributed throughout California. Their Campbell taproom has the honor of being their first location to open away from their San Jose brewpub. On any given day, they'll have 16 rotating taps of Strike Beer for you to try (including seltzers and sours). No matter what kind of beer lover you are, you're sure to find something for you here.

Strike's Campbell Taproom's is here for you if you want a place to hold a birthday party, watch the game, or just relax with a beer from the tap. It's family friendy, dog friendly, and has outdoor patio seating so you can enjoy a cold beer and fresh air at the same time. They sometimes also invite exciting local food vendors that go well with their beers.

If you haven't checked them out yet, please go and give them a warm belated Downtown Campbell welcome! They're located near the light rail tracks at 469 E. Campbell Ave. and are open Saturday through Wednesday (M–W: 3-8pm, Sat: 12-8, Sun: 12-6pm).

Creepy Crawly Halloween Trick or Treating Canceled for 2021

Posted on October 3rd, 2021 by sheldon

Halloween is coming and people are asking if we're going to be doing our annual Trick or Treating event in Downtown Campbell. We don't want to disappoint, but it's still too soon for that. We'd love nothing more than to return to being one of the most festive Halloween street events in the Bay Area again, but it can wait for one more year.

We hope you get all of the good scares you crave this Halloween, but please err on the side of safety so that we can all get together next year and make up for lost time and roll the clock back to 2019.

The annual Carol of Lights festivities will also take another year off, but that too should be back with gusto in 2022.

This is news that a lot of people have been waiting for. The Campbell Farmers' Market will be returning to its usual location in Downtown Campbell starting on Sunday, October 24th. Until then, the Farmers' Market will continue to operate in its normal Sunday hours at its temporary location at the Campbell Community Center.

Welcome back!

The Campbell Farmers' Market was suspended due to Covid-19 safety concerns in early March 2020. It remained suspended until arrangements could be made to temporarily relocate it to the Campbell Community Center in November of the same year. It has remained at the Community Center since then.

When the Campbell Farmers' Market returns to its traditional home in Downtown Campbell, it'll be after over 19 months since it was last in Downtown Campbell and with 11 of those months operating in exile at the Community Center.

The Farmers' Market will co-exist with parklets in Downtown Campbell for the rest of 2021, but after the new year, it should have the street all to itself again or mostly to itself. The Parklets Program will be ending on January 3rd, 2022, but it's not yet known if there will be a modified parklets program that will replace it.

Parklets in Downtown Campbell Extended to January 3, 2022

Posted on October 3rd, 2021 by sheldon

Earlier in the month, the Campbell City Council voted to extend the Parklets Program in Downtown Campbell out to January 3rd, 2022. The program was scheduled to end on September 30th unless extended.

This is expected to be the final extension of the Parklets Program in Downtown Campbell, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the parklets or some version of expanded outdoor seating is going away entirely. The Campbell City Council will be considering permanent options for a more limited parklet program to replace the current one instituted in 2020 as a Covid-19 pandemic measure.

The Entertainment Schedule for Boogie Music Festival: Remixed is out!

It's out and it's a who's who list of local musicians in the South Bay. If you don't know any of them, just show up. There'll be four stages going all day and chances are you'll really like at least one of the acts at any given time. It'll be hard to go wrong here.

Please visit the entertainment schedule page on the official Boogie Remixed website for more information about the performers or to learn more about the festival.

Please wear a mask!

Even though all of the live entertainment will be outdoors, we encourage you to wear a mask even if you've been vaccinated. Let's have fun, but err on the side of safety until we get out of this Delta wave.

Also, not only are we dealing with a stubborn pandemic, but the air quality may be sub-par from wildfires depending on which way the wind blows.

Smiling woman in a facemask

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know there's this faster spreading Delta variant of Covid-19 going around. If you actually have been living under a rock, congratulations for having the perfect lifestyle for our times.

As of Tuesday, August 3rd, Santa Clara County has mandated that face masks are again required for everyone regardless of your vaccination status when you're indoors at businesses. This isn't a return to the colored tiers of "The Blueprint" where most businesses had to operate at reduced capacities and some had to stay closed or operate in a different format. It's just face masks. That's all.

For anything that you can't do with a face mask on like beauty services or indoor dining you're required to wear face masks whenever possible. Keep your face masks on when you sit down, when you order, and when you're waiting for your food to come. When you're done with your meal or drinks, put your masks back on.

Going back to wearing face masks is the only change and if we all do the right thing and keep our exposure down by taking simple precautions, it'll hopefully be the only change that's needed to prevent the Delta variant from becoming a serious problem in the South Bay. It goes without saying that if you haven't been vaccinated, it really is critical that you get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Did you know that all Covid-19 Vaccinations are free?
Regardless of your insurance coverage or your immigration status, all Covid-19 vaccinations are covered by the Federal government. Go to sccfreevax.org to learn more and find a vaccination location near you.

So What Changed?

  • The Delta variant is as much as 3x as contagious as the original virus.

  • It's so contagious that it's no longer rare for vaccinated people to get "breakthrough" infections.

  • Vaccinated people with Delta breakthrough infections can be significantly infectious. Just how infectious is not clear, but it was previously believed that vaccinated people with breakthrough infections could only be weakly infectious at worst.

What Hasn't Changed

  • The chance of a fully vaccinated person dying of Covid-19 is miniscule.

  • Very few vaccinated people end up hospitalized.

  • The vaccine still gives you good all around protection, but it's not impenetrable.

  • Masks make it harder to spread the virus.

So here we are again. We know you're frustrated and exhausted about things changing so abruptly all the time. Please think of how much more frustrating and exhausting it is to be operating a small business in such a difficult time. We're again calling on you to help all of us struggling to keep retail shops, restaurants, and small businesses alive by...Read More
