If you ever lose a bet and have to eat a hat, have this man's number on speed dial. At least it would be an appetizing hat.
Faced with the daunting challenge of turning a mess of ingredients into something appetizing, Chef Jonathan Toste of Willard Hicks Grill in Downtown Campbell wins a cooking cage match at the Gilroy Garlic Festival by magically turning Spam, Dole Fruit Cocktail, Cucumber, and Squash Blossoms into something you'd want to share on your Instagram account before you devoured it.
Mmmmm, Dole Fruit Cocktail and Spam. Seriously, Mr. Toste, Willy Wonka has nothin on you.
The Mercury News has the details of the two recipes that earned Bossman Toste the top prize.
Last night was a mild and balmy night in Northern California. It was the perfect night to enjoy the evening out dining on the sidewalk at Tessora's Barra di Vino or one of the other numerous restaurants in Downtown Campbell. Nights like these were made for friends and wine and the watching of people as they drift along in the slowest minutes of summer.
Thanks a million to Instagrammer thomascalifornia_ for this amazing photo! Click his profile name if you'd like to see more of his photos.

This is quite humorous and quite legend... I was browsing Instagram and noticed some familiar looking donuts posted to the account of the Encinitas Farmer's Market. That would be the Encinitas, CA that's near San Diego. They were photos of donuts from Psycho Donuts in Downtown Campbell. Apparently one of their managers was up here and visited Psycho Donuts and was so smitten that she had to post about it to the fans for the Encinitas Farmer's Market.
Yup, we're all about the donuts here... today at least. Not a bad lot to be in. Thanks to Encinitas Station Certified Farmer's Market for the shout out and thanks for the photo. We'll have to come visit you next time.
Check out the packed dance floor at the July 16th show of the 2015 Campbell Summer Concert Series with the Cocktail Monkeys getting their glam rock on. It didn't seem like it'd be a Def Leppard sort of crowd, but I guess history shows a quarter century on, big hair and a loud guitar ain't no crime after all.
Say hello to the new "Cali-Muscle Roll" at Sushi [Confidential]. It's a protein packed and tasty sushi roll created for the athletes and body builders that Cali-Muscle serves. Who says that fitness and performance training food has to be boring. Well, in Downtown Campbell it isn't.
Campbell Creamery in Downtown Campbell just made the final cut in KFOX 98.5's fan vote for best ice cream shop in the South Bay. Let's help them take the title belt home. Go vote for Campbell Creamery in the KFOX poll here: http://www.kfox.com/pages/20024170.php

Please contact Mike Stonehouse if you would like more information about volunteering for the Chamber's hospitality booth this weekend. Phone: 408.378.6252 or Email: [email protected].
On July 1st, 2015, Frost Cupcake Factory celebrated their 4th Anniversary of their ministry of yumminess. They gave away cupcakes, held a raffle for prizes (including a custom pink Frost Cupcakes beach cruiser bike from the Cruiser Shop), and gave everyone a chance to yuk it up with a fun photo "booth" by The Laugh Box.
They brought the house... they brought the FUNK house to their July 2nd, 2015 date with the Campbell Summer Concert Series.
We also have some photos from that concert if video isn't your thing.

Boston based photographer, Kimberly Maroon, recently got a chance to visit with the wonderful Bob the Cat of Recycle Bookstore in Downtown Campbell and she wrote and took photos of her experience. She also picked up a book too. Welcome to Campbell Ms. Maroon!
She wrote: At first glance Campbell seems like your regular run-of-the-mill suburb. Strip malls and quiet neighborhoods of two-story homes with backyards. One of my first nights there, I went for a walk downtown looking for dinner and anything to do. Yes! Finally, something that reminded me of my neighborhood…

Campbell has lost another icon and Downtown Campbell has lost one of its most supportive boosters from years past when Downtown Campbell was a sleepy avenue that shut down and became a ghost town at 5pm every day. It's hard to believe, but those days are really not that long ago.
Betty Deal, your deeds will be remembered and your passion for improving things for business and the community in Campbell will live on. Thank you for all of your help and steadfast support for all those years. You were there and you will be missed.
The Campbell Chamber has a endearing tribute to Betty here:

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Betty's adventures at Darling Fischer Memorial Chapel in Downtown Campbell on Monday, June 29th at 11:00am.
Once again, the very popular Campbell Farmer's Market took top billing in a best of readers poll. The Farmers' Market that takes place in Downtown Campbell every Sunday from 9am to 1pm was voted as the Best in Silicon Valley 2015 by the readers of the San Jose Mercury News.
Downtown Campbell's year round Farmer's Market is well loved for the community atmosphere and fresh produce grown locally by California Farmers. It's also known for being a great place to people watch and shop for more than just your usual groceries. People come for the craft vendors, live music, coffee, breakfast at one of our restaurants, and for the casual shopping atmosphere.
If you want proof, here's a photo album for you to look through of the Campbell Farmer's Market. Better yet, come on down and enjoy it in person.
