Artist/Artisan Guidelines: 2nd Saturdays in Downtown Campbell

2nd Saturday in Downtown Campbell is a FREE Art Walk. There is no set-up/booth fee, and no sales commission required.

We do not require art submissions, however, we do appreciate a photo or link where we can see your wares, upon application. For this event, we accept all forms of VISUAL art with the following requirements:

  • The art must be handmade, and sold at the event by the artist/artisan himself/herself.
  • Each vendor must hold a current California Sellers Permit #, which is free to obtain through the State Board of Equalization (SBOE). If you are an artist performing live art only (and not selling your wares), it is possible that a sellers permit may not be required.

2nd Saturday is a Visual Art Walk/Music event. All forms of artwork must be visual in nature (no cosmetics, body/hair products, etc.). Because this event is meant to enhance the already vibrant downtown, we limit "crafts" to those which won't compete with the Downtown Campbell brick & mortar merchants, and jewelry vendors (again, handmade only) are limited to two per/event, on a first come-first served basis.

Artists/vendors are assigned an approx. 10x10 spot in front of a local merchant's business. We do our best to accommodate with ample overhead protection. However, in cases where there is no overhang, there are some spots that allow for a 10x10 pop-up. This is on a case-by-case basis and must be authorized prior to placement.

A typical set up is a fold out table or two, a few short easels, and your art/wares. Feel free to set up in a way that is comfortable for you to best display your wares, as long as your set-up does not block a doorway, nor the merchant's windows above 4 feet high. Vendors/artists are responsible to provide your own tables, chairs, pop-ups, etc, so be sure to come prepared. It is important to inform us if your set-up requires power so that we can place you in a spot that can accommodate (and important to come equipped with your own extension cord).

Upon receipt of your confirmation, your name will be placed on the list for the month specified. Approx. one week prior to the event, you will receive an email specifying your set-up location. IMPORTANT: Please reconfirm your participation via email once you receive placement for that event.

On the 2nd Saturday date, myself (John Cloud) or Deb Rohzen, owner of Simply Smashing, will be on site at 241-B E. Campbell Avenue, to answer any questions.

The 2nd Saturday event time frame is 2pm-6pm. Load in time is 1:00pm (give or take, depending on the amount of time needed for you to be completely set up by 2pm).

Artist/vendor space is limited and placement is strategically arranged. It is imperative that, once placed, artists/vendors set up ONLY where placed, and participate for the entire event. Tear-down can begin after 6pm. Relocating set-up without agreement from John/Deb, last minute cancellations and/or late arrival/early breakdown may result in being excluded from further DCBA events.

2nd Saturday Art Walk is a grass roots, community event. It is important for all parties to PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE in order to make it a success for everyone. The DCBA advertises through the San Jose Mercury News and local papers,, newsletters and social media. Pick up 4x6 postcard handouts and window signs at Simply Smashing (241-B E. Campbell Avenue) and please share the event via your own newsletters and social media! Another great way to communicate with us and others about this event, and share with your peeps is our Facebook Page:
