2024 Parade Canceled Due to Weather

Unfortunately, it's looking like there's a good chance of rain coming at us this weekend so we had to make the difficult decision to call off the Bunnies and Bonnets Parade on Saturday, March 30th. Preparing for our annual Easter parade is a huge amount of work for the organizers as well as the participants. Waiting until the last minute to make a decision risked creating a lot of disruptions for everyone involved. We felt it would be better to make the call now.

Downtown Campbell is meant for these kind of community celebrations and we're very disappointed we couldn't have the parade this year. It'll be back next year and we're also hoping that the Eggstravaganza Easter Egg hunt can also return with it.

The next opportunity for a family day in Downtown Campbell will be in three months. It'll be on June 29th and you'll want to save the date for our 2nd annual car show in Downtown Campbell. It'll be a family friendly good time with prize winning show cars on display for your viewing pleasure.

Posted on March 22nd, 2024 by sheldon

Save the Date

After a successful inaugural show, the Historic Downtown Campbell Car Show is returning for 2024 on Saturday, June 29th. This time there will be a little bit more of everything. We're still working out the details and we'll have more to tell you soon.

Car Show Entries

We don't yet have a date when we'll be opening up for entries into this year's car show, but we will post an announcement in advance of the opening date as soon as we have a date. If you want to be among the first to know, please watch the DowntownCampbell.com homepage or sign up for the Downtown Campbell mailing list. You can also follow us on Facebook or Instagram to get our announcements.

We've got some bad news. There won't be an Easter Egg Hunt this year at the Campbell Community Center.

The Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt is an event produced by the Campbell Kiwanis Club and was spearheaded by one person, J.R. McKee, whose community contributions to the Campbell area community runs a mile long. He made that Easter Egg Hunt happen for many of its 41 years and he decided that last year's hunt would be his last.

The Campbell Kiwanis Club and their friends haven't found anyone to keep the event going so there won't be an egg hunt this year, but there are conversations happening to explore possibilities of bringing the event back next year.

The good news is that the Bunnies and Bonnets Easter Parade will still be happening at its usual time and we'll be stocking plenty of sidewalk chalk and bubbles for kids to play with before the parade starts. You're invited to come out early to have fun on the street in Downtown Campbell instead of spending the morning waiting for the egg hunt to start.

The annual Bunnies and Bonnets Parade in Downtown Campbell is less than two weeks away and we could use some extra volunteers to help us run the event. We'll be needing some people before the parade to hand out bubbles and chalk to kids and we may need help providing information to people coming to watch the parade as well as those coming to be in the parade.

If you'd like to help out at the parade, please fill out our Volunteer Registration Form. We also have other fun community events coming up that we'll need a hand at.

The Top 6 Most Effective Headache Relief Tricks You Need To Try Now

Posted on February 26th, 2024 by cloudcity

headaches

If you suffer from debilitating headaches and migraines, we’ve got good news. Although these nuisances can be thoroughly distracting, several natural remedies can bring you the relief you crave. In this blog, we’re sharing six tricks for prompt headache relief. Let’s begin with the most overlooked and accessible way to remedy horrible headaches and migraines.

Proper Hydration

As cliche as this sounds, proper hydration comes with a host of health benefits, including headache relief. The key word here is proper.

To that end, this doesn’t mean you drink a glass of water and are magically infused with all the wonderful benefits of water. Proper hydration alludes to the science-backed recommendation of 15.5 cups of water per day for men, and 11.5 cups of water per day for women. Accordingly, this explains how millions of people are walking around dehydrated and have no idea. When your brain is not properly hydrated, your brain shrinks. This constriction puts pressure on your nerves, which produces pain and tension. Hence, your unexplained recurring headaches.

Acupressure

Did you know there are specific areas on your body that where pressure is applied, tension is released?

Try applying gentle pressure and massaging the following points for targeted headache relief:

  • The webbed area between your thumb and forefinger
  • The base of your skull
  • The surface between your eyebrows

CBD

Whether taken via edible, sublingual tincture, or applied topically, CBD is a powerful ingredient that brings almost instantaneous relief to headaches and migraines in various ways. Here’s how:

  • Vasodilation widens your blood vessels to increase blood flow, reducing the severity of the headache.
  • Anxiolytic effects promote relaxation, which can help to prevent and subdue headaches triggered by stress. Stress and anxiety are the number one cause of common headaches and migraines.
  • Relaxes muscles to release tension and modulate pain and other headache symptoms.

Your Guide To Surviving A Panic Attack In Under 5 Minutes

Posted on February 19th, 2024 by cloudcity

how to stop a panic attack

Stress and anxiety seem to have found a permanent home in the daily lives of millions of Americans. Our “always on” culture has led to a significant increase in prescription drug abuse. Thus, we are observing never-before-seen increases in cases of dependence, long-term impaired cognitive function, irregular heartbeats, heart failures, and lethal seizures. Amidst the many legal national arguments about the sale and handling of prescription drugs, individuals suffering from mental health disorders, such as recurring panic attacks, are desperately searching for natural remedies.

Studies show that one of the most popular of such natural alternatives is CBD. As one of the most prevalent compounds found in the cannabis plant, CBD has become known for its analgesic properties that affect not only the body but also the mind. In this blog, we’ll explore how sublingual CBD tinctures can help you stop an oncoming panic attack in minutes.

What is a panic attack?

A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear or anxiety that triggers a severe physical reaction to a perceived threat. Common symptoms of panic attacks include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Increased blood flow
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Shaking or trembling
  • Sweating
  • An overwhelming sense of doom

How CBD can stop an oncoming panic attack

First things first: Although it’s derived from the cannabis plant, CBD is a non-psychoactive extract. With that said, taking CBD as a way to treat a panic attack is not the same as “getting high” to numb physical or emotional pain via intoxication.

Unlike its counterpart, THC, CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) to restore balance to the various physiological functions it regulates, such as your hormone production, nervous system, and sleep cycles.

How CBD tinctures work for a panic attack

When consumed sublingually, CBD has the opportunity to connect with...Read More
