With the lifting of some retail restrictions lately, I've been unboxing a TON of new inventory this weekend to prepare for my opening on Friday, June 12th.

Do you have fond memories of being stuck on a plane thinking, "I am so bored that I'm actually going to read this SkyMall magazine that the nice airline people left for me in the germ free seat-back pocket. Haha, flying... do people even do that anymore? It's 2020 and instead of being stuck on a plane, you're stuck at home. You're just as bored and a SkyMall catalog would sure come in handy right now.

We have something pretty close. We're calling it the SIP Mall. The SIP Mall is kinda like SkyMall in that it's full of cool stuff for you to look at when you're bored and stuck, but stuck at home instead of stuck at 30,000 feet off the ground.

Our SIP Mall helps you find the delightful things that our family of small retail shops are offering online. There's an online store directory and gift guides featuring some of the coolest items curated from all of our retailers' online offerings.

So if you're stuck at home, open up the SIP Mall for a fun way to pass the time. We'll regularly update our SIP Mall gift guides with new collections so you can do a little virtual window shopping online until the day comes that you'll be able to spend an afternoon strolling through Downtown Campbell again.

I'm bored off my gourd, show me the SIP Mall!

We've started round 2 of the Downtown Campbell Survival Project where you get to win prizes in monthly drawings for supporting our small businesses through the Covid-19 pandemic.

There's definitely a smell of pizza in our batch of prizes for the second round!

You get entries into the monthly drawing for doing any of the following: buying something, sharing our social media tagged with #VivaDTC, or donating to a GoFundMe. See the Downtown Campbell Survival Project page for full details.

All entries received between May 12th and June 13th qualify for our second round.

P.S. If you entered the drawing for round one, please check your email. Several of our winners haven't responded so we can't announce the winners of the first round yet. We'll re-pick if we can't get a hold of them so if you didn't win, it's not over yet!

Round One Winners

Congratulations to the following fans of Downtown Campbell who will each win a $50 gift card of their choice to any business listed in our Gift Card directory.

  • Christy Kaiser (entered via Instagram)
  • Tau O'Sullivan (purchased gift card from Body Rest Massage)
  • Brittany Spaziani (purchase from Redemption)
  • Aer Lee (donated to a GoFundMe)
  • Claire Blackhurst (entered via Facebook)
  • Tina Ledger (donated to a GoFundMe)

Shelter-in-Place Summer Fashion Round-up

Posted on May 14th, 2020 by sheldon

Summer is coming and nobody's going anywhere so this year's style is all about the comfort isn't it? Well, but of course you still want to look nice.

You don't have to choose one or the other, right? We've selected some nice looks you can get from our boutiques that are both comfortable, easy fitting, and also easy on the eyes. All items can be ordered for delivery. Some of the shops don't have online purchasing options, but you can message them to arrange for payment and delivery.

Parents, if you're looking for a fun activity to do with your kids that has a uniquely local flair, we'd like to introduce you to the books of local children's author, Julie Dart. Downtown Campbell is her happy place and she does most of her writing in various spots in and around Downtown. In her most recent book, "The Adventures of Jimmy and his Red Jacket," Julie enshrined some of her favorite places in Campbell by featuring them as places the main character visits, but changed the names of the locations.

To give parents a distinctly local activity to do with their kids while they're sheltering at home, Julie's doing a weekly read-along of "The Adventures of Jimmy and his Red Jacket." Each week's read-along includes a mystery to solve. Kids are invited to figure out the real world names of the locations that Jimmy visits. The first ten correct answers to be submitted to Julie will receive a kid sized prize from the real location that was depicted in her book.

You might not be able to go out and roam around as you wish in Downtown Campbell right now, but with a little help from your imagination, you and your kids can still explore with Julie.

"The Adventures of Jimmy and his Red Jacket" can be purchased online through Julie Dart's website or you can just follow along online in YouTube readings that she's released.

Follow Julie's Facebook page to get the weekly location riddles to earn your chance at some tasty little prizes. They're currently on week 2 of an 11 week read along. At the very end, one lucky winner will be randomly chosen to receive their very own red jacket just like the one that Jimmy wears in the book.
