The First Annual Big Bands & BBQ Festival will be held Saturday, July 12, 2pm-9pm in Downtown Campbell. If you would like to volunteer as a stage hand, children's activity helper, or beverage seller, please come to the Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, July 10, 6pm-7pm at Villa Ragusa, 35 South Second Street, in Downtown Campbell.

You needn't have contacted us in advance to attend and participate on July 12th - just show up at the Orientation on July 10th! Volunteers will receive special discounts from participating Downtown Campbell merchants, as well as the gratitude of the very busy local shop owners who run the Downtown Campbell Business Association.

After a number of good years in Downtown Campbell, Cyndi Garofalo, of Garofalo's Interiors & Antiques, has decided to close her storefront on July 30, 2008. But don't worry, Garofalo's fans! Garofalo's will continue in another incarnation (without a storefront), and Cyndi will be available to consult on home décor, teach "trash to treasure" classes, work with estate sales, decorate for holidays and parties, and re-purpose furniture.

Cyndi has made clear that this change is a "storefront retirement" - she's definitely not going out of business!! The Downtown Campbell Business Association is still in need of volunteers and sponsors for its first annual Big Bands & BBQ Festival! Good news, film fans! Sundown Cinema will return to Downtown Campbell on Friday, June 27, 2008 with yet another 10-film series of cinematic classics. Presented by Casa de la Cultura Mexica, and assisted with sponsorship from the Downtown Campbell Business Association and Javier Sanchez, the entire community will be able to enjoy Friday evenings under the stars, bags of popcorn in hand, watching some of the greatest movies in cinematic history.

Movies will be shown on Friday nights in the parking lot next to Orchard Valley Coffee near the corner of E. Campbell Ave. and Central Ave. Start times for each movie will depend on when the sun sets. Shows usually begin between 8 and 9pm, once it's dark enough to see the movie. Don’t forget to bring a chair and a blanket!
