Thursday - June 14, 20126:30PM - Green Planet Yarn: Lace 101
Green Planet Yarn in Downtown Campbell is pleased to present the class Lace 101, in the Technique Building Series. This class, held on three successive Thursdays, (June 14th, 21st, and 28th), is for beginning knitters. In this three-session class you will learn how to make yarn-overs and various decreases, which are the basis for lace knitting. You will also learn how to read lace instructions, both written and charted; how to add a lifeline to your work; and how to fix some errors. We will also cover cast-ons and bind-offs suitable for lace, including provisional cast-ons and attaching a lace edging to live stitches. Finally, there will be a demonstration on how to block lace to bring out its full beauty. Supply list: fingering weight yarn, knitting needles size US 5-7 (3.75-4.5 mm), smooth yarn in contrasting color (or embroidery or dental floss), yarn needle, crochet hook, stitch markers. Homework: none. Skill level: beginner, confident with knitting and purling, ready to learn more.
Fee: $75. Payment required in advance. Space is limited. Please phone the shop for more information and to reserve a spot, 408-871-9196. added on | author: GreenPlanetYarn
