Award-winning astrophysicist, national lecturer, and former consultant with NASA, Kevin Manning expertly guides all ages on an educational and entertaining exploration of the universe. Today, he will present the program Solar Activity and Other Stellar Phenomena.
The Sun is 93 million miles from Earth, and it provides enough heat and light to sustain life as we know it. During the first hour, he will introduce the life cycle of the Sun as well as the hidden intricacies of solar activities. Following the indoor formal presentation, he will bring the audience outside to the library’s parking lot to view celestial wonders in the night sky, such as distant stars, the rings of Saturn, craters on the Moon, etc., weather permitting!
