About the Bands

Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers

Big Band Stage (4pm - 5:30pm)

Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers Lavay Smith, the vocalist and bandleader of the all-star Red Hot Skillet Lickers, is internationally recognized as the Queen Of Classic Jazz & Blues of the 1940's and 1950's. The group's last album, Everybody's Talkin' 'Bout Miss Thing!, received a prestigious 4 & 1/2 Star review from Downbeat Magazine.

Lavay's singing style is influenced by greats such as Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Bessie Smith. Whether singing her own compositions or drawing on a large repertoire of classics, Lavay and her all-star 7-piece band bake up an instant recipe for dancing and good times.

South Bay School of Music Arts Big Band

Big Band Stage (12pm - 1:30pm)

South Bay School of Music Big Band This lively 18-piece big band, based in Milpitas, performs a variety of tunes ranging from Latin to jazz standards.

Bug Horn Rex

Big Band Stage (6pm - 7:30pm)

Bug Horn Rex It's west coast jazz meets good old blues meets New Orleans street-funk as this 7-piece band with a bright horn section leads you on a stroll down Bourbon Street.

The Bingtones

Big Band Stage (2pm - 3:30pm)

The Bingtones Chock full of veteran musicians who've worked with the best in the business, this 10-piece band performing pop, R&B, and soul brings rock-solid rhythms and infectious melodies to every performance.

Redwood

Rock n' Roll Stage (3pm - 4:15pm)

Redwood the Band San Jose's Redwood blends 90s alternative and indie pop-rock originals into dynamic performances that range from quiet acoustic to full-on electric.

The B Stars

Rock n' Roll Stage (4:45pm - 6pm)

The B Stars The B Stars perform vintage country and hillbilly swing that gets the joint jumping. With original tunes that harken back to the days of 78 and 45 RPM records, they do their best to keep your toes tapping and heels clicking.

Lil' Pea & the Third Degree

Rock n' Roll Stage (6:30pm - 7:45pm)

Lil Pea and the 3rd Degree Armed with an arsenal of blues, reggae, rock, and soul performed with a funky, energetic groove, every performance by this 4-piece band is an upbeat good time.
