Join us for the next Downtown Campbell First Friday event, Main Street USA! With live music, dance performances, face painting, balloon artists, and the debut of Sundown Cinema 2009, there's no better way for folks of all ages to start the weekend off right.On Campbell Avenue this evening, we'll feature Pockets the Clown and friends painting faces and creating balloon art; Fred McCarty performing country originals, Texas swing, and Cajun tunes; and the students of Downtown Campbell's own Dance Effects showing off some of their incredible talent. And be sure to bring a chair and a blanket and join us at twilight for the first film of Sundown Cinema's 2009 series, American Graffitti. Today, 11am-9pm, Downtown Campbell merchants will be hosting a passport event. Pick up a passport sheet from any participating business then stroll the Avenue, finding the American Flag in each of the businesses. Write the number printed on each flag on your passport sheet. And, anytime before 9pm, turn this paper into Embellishes (389 E. Campbell Ave). Receive one raffle ticket for every five correct flag numbers listed on your sheet and be entered to win one of three gift baskets. Come join Sundown Cinema for another summer of great movies shown outdoors in Downtown Campbell. The opening movie on July 3 will be George Lucas's 1973 coming-of-age film, American Graffitti, set in Modesto, California in the early 1960s. Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.Movie Synopsis: Read about the film on Wikipedia. Where & When: Movies will be shown outdoors in the parking lot next to Orchard Valley Coffee near the corner of E. Campbell Ave. and Central Ave. Start times for each movie will depend on when the sun sets. Shows usually begin between 8 and 9pm, once it's dark enough to see the film. Don’t forget to bring a chair and a blanket! No alcoholic beverages and no smoking, please. |
